I was born in August 1965, in Shifnal, Shropshire, a true lioness!, my Mother would say!
My life is full to the brim and always has been, during the day my Father and Mother ran their own florist, fishmonger and greengrocery business, but their evenings were devoted to professional Championship Ballroom dancing, but by the time I was fully walking, my parents were very active in the world of show dogs, I was a Junior Handler handling many breeds throughout the seven groups, and I was granted a life interest in the affix of ‘ZARCREST’ for my birthday by my parents back in 1980.
I have been the principal handler for Zarcrest Dachshunds and am responsible for over 160 CC wins throughout the UK, RSA and GS in Eire, covering four varieties/breeds within the hound group.
For a decade i served on the breed clubs, officiating in administrative roles. I am also proud to been recognised as an international championship show level Judge of all six varieties of Dachshunds and have awarded over 35 sets of Challenge Certificates and/or Green Stars covering five countries around the globe.
The first Zarcrest website came when a family friend made a website for us whilst in school during his exams in 2000.
We got financially stung a few times along the way for maintenance and re-development, so I decided to train and become a website developer myself in 2006 vowing to never charge more than is necessary and that my client is the most important part of the project.
My friend helped me with the little issues in the early days and to her I dedicate every site I build, as without her I would not be where I am today!
On the career horizon, I have always been imaginative, firstly I trained as a hairdresser/barber for the theatre and thoroughly enjoyed ten years of working in that field.
I moved on then for something a little different and trained in the areas of processing photography, learning every step from the bottom up.
Dabbling in the advertising business, alongside my eldest son who currently works as one of the principal press photographers for Our Dogs Newspapers Ltd, I then went to work at Shropshire Newspapers Ltd and in my spare time, I designed adverts, logos and websites for my Son’s clients, I got too busy to go to work so I formed a small creative web agency and as they say the rest is history and here I am!
